Washington (ANI): Actress Penelope Cruz is still haunted by the dark days of her initial Hollywood career. The 34-year-old actress revealed that she hates to revisit Los Angeles hangout the Sunset Marquis, where she stayed with two stray cat pets while shooting for her first English-language film The Hi-Lo Country.

The Volver star said that she felt miserable and lonely. “Many times I would pick up the phone and realise there was no one to call because I didn’t have any friends,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying. “The experience means a trip back to the Sunset Marquis to meet friends or directors is never one she enjoys. “I cannot even look at those rooms now. I have a weird physical reaction. Everything comes back from those years,” she added.

Islamabad, July 15 : Pakistan all-rounder Yasir Arafat has reportedly joined IPL team ‘Kolkata Knight Riders’ owned by Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan and captained by Saurav Ganguly.Yasir has taken seven wickets and scored 44 runs in his only Test. He has also taken four wickets in eight one-day internationals, besides scoring 48 runs.

The PCB gave the go ahead to Arafat to join the Kolkata team for IPL’s next edition scheduled in April-May 2009, reported the Daily Times.

“The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also given him a green signal and encouraged the pacer to join the team,” the paper quoted sources close to Yasir as saying.

They added that Shahrukh talked to the all-rounder on telephone and personally finalised the initial details with him.

MUMBAI (Reuters) - Hollywood may be knocking at her doors but for actress Aishwarya Rai, working abroad is just another job, in a different language. Or so feels husband Abhishek Bachchan.

“For her, I am sure it’s just as big a deal to do a Bengali film as a film with, say Will Smith,” Bachchan told Reuters in an interview with Rai by his side.

“It’s not about Hollywood or India. Yes, we have immense respect for their industry, but we have equal amount of respect for our cinema or the regional cinema that exists in India,” he said.

The couple, along with Abhishek’s father, Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, will soon travel across North America and Europe on the first leg of Bollywood’s ‘Unforgettable Tour’, which kicks off in the Canadian city of Toronto on July 18.

Going on the global concert tour together fulfills a promise the young Bachchan made to Rai before they were married in April 2007, at a time when they were just friends.

While shooting for the film “Kuch Na Kaho” some years ago, Bachchan couldn’t accompany Rai on a tour because he was busy working.

“I promised her that one day we would go on a world tour together. We didn’t know we’d be husband and wife then,” the 32-year-old actor said.

Casey Aldridge has retreated to Liberty willingly, the report claims, but his mom, Joyce, is putting up a fight. “She calls Serenity every day, and it annoys Jamie Lynn to no end,” adds the source. “If Joyce has her way, Casey would be forced to spend more time with the baby, even though he seem uninterested in fatherhood.” At last count Casey and Jamie Lynn were still engaged, will they make it to the altar?
